After a long day and staying up late to edit photos, I was about to turn in when I saw an aurora alert on my phone. Usually when I get an aurora alert, the clouds or moon are out and cancel out the northern lights. I stumbled to the window to see what the weather was like to find that not only was it clear, but it was also moonless, and the auroras were dancing! I quickly switched from pajamas to field clothes and ran out to the car to chase the night.
